Lagoon Plover policies
Privacy Policy
This notice explains what personal data Lagoon Plover Ltd may process, why we use it and the rights available to people in the United Kingdom.
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Controller and scope
Lagoon Plover Ltd is the controller of personal data processed on lagoon-plover.com and through direct communications with us. This notice does not govern a third-party retailer reached through an advertising link; that retailer acts under its own privacy notice.
2. Information we may collect
- Technical information such as truncated IP address, browser type, device category, operating system, referral URL and approximate region.
- Usage information such as pages viewed, link interactions, session timing and cookie choices.
- Communication information you provide, including your name, email address, telephone number and message.
- Advertising measurement information, including campaign identifiers and whether an advertising link was followed.
We do not ask for retailer account passwords or payment-card details and do not receive full payment information from featured retailers.
3. Purposes and lawful bases
- Website operation and security: our legitimate interests in providing, protecting and diagnosing the service.
- Responding to enquiries: steps at your request and our legitimate interests in communicating with visitors.
- Analytics and advertising measurement: your consent where information is stored on or read from your device.
- Legal compliance: compliance with a legal obligation and establishing or defending legal claims.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and expectations. You may withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
4. Recipients and international transfers
We may use carefully selected hosting, security, analytics, communications and advertising providers acting under contract. Product links necessarily disclose normal connection data to the destination retailer. Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard clauses, or another lawful safeguard. You may request information about relevant safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months after the matter closes, security logs for up to 12 months, and consent records for the period reasonably needed to demonstrate compliance. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify an individual may be retained longer. We delete or anonymise personal data when no longer necessary, subject to legal and dispute-related retention duties.
6. Your rights
Subject to the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent; and ask not to be subject to a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects. We may need to verify your identity and normally respond within one month.
You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, although we invite you to contact us first so we can address the concern.
7. Children and security
This website is directed to adults and is not intended to collect information from children. We use proportionate organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive information through an ordinary email.
8. Changes
We may update this notice to reflect legal, technical or business changes. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented prominently where appropriate.
